Property demand in Plymouth

Plymouth has a very poor supply of quality hotel accommodation in the city, and consists of mostly budget hotels;

There has been a huge net loss of hotel rooms over the past decade due to older style, outdated hotel closures, but few new hotels opening;

Plymouth Hotel Occupancy rates have experienced continued growth since 2012. In the high season this translates to over 90% occupancy rates, and an annual occupancy rate at over 80%, highlighting an undersupplied market;

Average length of tourist trips to Plymouth : UK visitors 3.25 nights; Overseas visitors : 8.16 nights;

Total nights stays have continued to grow annually at a steady rate of 1.19% since 2012.

Business guests to the city express disappointment with the current hotel supply and quality and tend to seek out high end serviced accommodation in preference.
